The Ga Traditional Council has outlined its activities for this year’s Homowo festival with a call on all residents in Accra to comply with it.
The programmes of activities are the ban on drumming and noise-making, which begins on May 8, and it would be lifted on June 8.
Nii Dodoo Nsaki II, the Acting President of the Council outlined the programmes at a news conference in Accra.
He said the main celebrations of the festival would come off on Saturday, August 12.
Nii Dodoo Nsaki said a special taskforce would be put in place to provide security and asked the people for total co-operation.
He called for support and collaboration from all well-wishers to join hands to make this year’s festival grand.
Nii Ayibonte II, the Gbese Mantse warned sub-chiefs not to condone and connive with churches to flout the rites of the Ga people and called on them to enforce the ban in their jurisdictions.
