Mining site in Akyem Osino owned by Nawara Mining Company have lost Four Miners.
Some residents are accusing the Company of negligence and disregard for mining safety protocols,
And pollution of the environment.
The unfortunate death occurred on May 18, 2020, around 9:00am.
Report by police says the two were illegal miners who went to scavenge for gold
“known locally as kolikoli in an abandoned mining pit of Nawara Mining Company.
However, whilst prospecting for the precious mineral, the pit suddenly caved in on them.
They were belatedly removed from the pit after strenuous effort but pronounced dead on arrival at the Hawa Memorial Hospital at Akyem Osiem.
The bodies sent to Kibi Government Hospital Morgue.
