New reports from the Regional Police Commander have it confirmed that over 30 inmate in two prison
cells have tested positive for the coronavirus.
These affected persons in the reports stated that they are being treated in the cells by medical officers.

In a brief interview with ACP Paul Awuni he stated as quoted;
“The first case was a little over four weeks ago in Kasoa where some of our inmates tested positive. But we are working together closely with the District Public Health Emergency Management Committees. All these inmates who have tested positive were treated in the police cells. Currently, we are having an issue in Assin Fosu where some inmates have also tested positive.” ACP Paul Awuni stated.

According to the Ghana Health Service.

Out of that number, four persons infected with Covid-19 are in critical condition and are on ventilators
while 14 others are critically ill.
Director of Public Health at the GHS, Dr Badu Sarkodie at a press briefing on Thursday stated that this
represents a positivity rate of 4.95 as 261,319 tests have been conducted.
