President of the republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been unanimously acclaimed, officially, as the New Patriotic Party’s flag bearer in the 2020 General Elections.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Alisa hotel today after his acclamation, President Nana Akufo-Addo called on Ghanaians to give him and the NPP government another 4 years in government which will be an assurance of the continuity of work and more from his government.
“We are told that those who were responsible for the worst economic performance of the last 30 years have learnt their mistakes and seek another opportunity to correct their mistakes. That they’ve learnt their lessons and seek another opportunity to correct their mistakes. There I ask; should the presidency be for experiments? Surely not. You the Ghanaian people deserve better. And you will get better on 7th December with 4 more years for Nana and the NPP to do more for you” he said.
In his speech, president Akufo-Addo touted his government’s policies as successful, indicating that policies such as the Free SHS Policy is part of his government’s resolve to invest in the future of the country.

Touching on other sectors of the country including that of infrastructure and agriculture, he said that the government’s approach in bringing massive development enshrined in their zeal to see a ‘Ghana Beyond Aid’ was different. He thus called on delegates present to tell Ghanaians about the NPP’s successes.

” We have to win the elections to see our many projects through to completion. We dare not leave the many factories coming up under our 1D1F Scheme to be truncated. We dare not dare not leave the Free SHS to be “reviewed” . We dare not leave our roads unattended again only to become part of a Green Book propaganda. We dare not jeopardize the digitizing schedule on which we have embarked. I urge you therefore, my dear friends and colleagues to go out with the confidence that comes from your government performing well and running the affairs of the country competently. Tell our story to the Ghanaian people and tell it often” he urged.
The president also called on all eligible Ghanaians to go out and register for the new voters’ roll when the Electoral Commission of Ghana commences work on Tuesday saying “the pandemic notwithstanding, we have to strengthen our democracy.
