NIGERIAN music star, Adekunle Gold is celebrating his birthday today. A lot of well wishes have been pouring in, and his wife, Simi, is not left out.
Simisola shared the first official photo from their traditional wedding with a wonderful birthday message on Instagram.
The singer however disabled comments on the post as she has been under pressure to share more photos from her wedding.
Simi wrote:-
“Light of my life. I love you. I also really like you and the way you do ur tins.
I’m such a lucky babe. You’re also lucky af, but iss ur beday, so yea, let’s focus on the celebrant.
I know God knows how much I want you to shine and prosper and win and laugh and be happy, so I pray God grants my heart desires. Happy birthday Champ. 💙”
DAILY POST reported that the singers secretly got engaged in December 2018.
The engagement was reportedly attended by only close family members and photos were not allowed at the events.
Their wedding has since stirred reactions from Nigerians who wondered how Adekunle Gold and Simi were able to keep their relationship a secret.
On January 9, 2019, Adekunle Gold and Simi got married in a secret ceremony with hardly any pictures trickling out.
The “Ire” singer confirmed the marriage in a note he shared with his fans in an email announcing their union.
According to the note, they got engaged in 2018 and finally tied the knot in January 2019.
He also revealed that Simi had been with him for five years before she said, “YES” to his marriage proposal last year.
Adekunle Gold said: “Earlier in 2018, I asked my girl of five years to be my wife. Knowing all of my imperfections and shortcomings, she said yes!
“This January, before God and our family, we vowed to do this thing called life together. To be honest, it’s easy to get lost in the limelight; so we definitely have a slightly obsessive desire for a private life that belongs to just us.”
