Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, Vice Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has given the assurance that Ghana would work for everybody but not a selected few, if the party is given the mandate to govern.
He said it would be driven by the interest of the people – and do everything to tackle the widespread economic suffering and rising joblessness among the youth.
He therefore called for a vote for change in the coming polls to return the country to the path of real progress and prosperity.
Alhaji Dr. Bawumia who has been pushing to woo voters for the NPP’s candidate contesting the Abetifi parliamentary bye-election gave the promise when he addressed separate rallies in Kwahu-Tafo, Simpoa, Miaso and Kotoso.
He said the general election was an opportunity to replace the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) for competent management of the economy to transform the living conditions of the population.
He told the people that they would deliver on every election promise they made, stating that, there would be a restoration of the teacher trainee allowance in their first national budget.
Dr. Bawumia appealed to them to vote massively for the party’s parliamentary candidate, Mr. Bryan Acheampong, in the bye-election to be held tomorrow – July 16.
Mr. Acheampong, promised to focus on the development of the area’s agriculture, promotion of education and employment creation.
He said he would live up to the expectation of his constituents – effectively represent them and that he was not going to disappoint.
The chief of Kwahu Tafo, Nana Ameyaw Gyemsiamah III, earlier during a courtesy call on him by Alhaji Dr. Bawumia, urged tolerance and responsible conduct by the political parties to make the general election peaceful.
