The West African Examination Council (WAEC) has put the conduct of the 2020 WASSCE on hold until further notice in the wake of the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID).
The WASSCE (SC) 2020 Timetable has equally been suspended until further notice.

An inter-office memorandum signed by E. K. Myers, Ag. Head, IED for the Registrar and sighted by Kasapafmonline.com said “The negative impact of the novel and deadly COVID-l9 pandemic and the subsequent protocols put in place by governments of member countries to prevent the spread of the disease have serious implications for the conduct of WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 as agreed by the National Offices.
It added that “the proposal from the Secretariat on the need to reschedule WASSCE (SC) 2020 was approved by the Chairman of Council.”
The memo, however, noted that the directives concerning the suspension of both the WASSCE and the timetable will be reviewed when the health situation improves.
Ghana has as of Friday, March 20, 2020, recorded 16 confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
