Most local television stations in Ghana are full of fake Mallams and traditional priest advertising themselves.
Claiming they can double your money for you.
Some are seen giving lotto numbers after paying some amount of money among other activities.
Most Ghanaians have been calling on the Government to ban all those activities on their local television stations that they seem ‘morally right’.
Well, the outfit responsible for controlling the media space,
But The National Media Commission have responded to the complains claiming
they cannot ban ‘money doublers’ on TV because the law does not permit that actions.
In a one on one interview on Onua TV with Yaw Boadu Ayeboafo Chairman of the NMC he further elaborated that
“we can’t do anything to that person or that media house”.
“What the NMC can do is to advise a media person or a media house to retract and apologize to anyone or institution they have offended and we can’t surcharge you,” he said.
“After our investigations, we can also hand you over to your employers to sanction the person. We can also recommend to the employers that the person’s conduct is unacceptable to the profession but we cannot surcharge you.”
