Joseph Yamin Jabs GFA
Joseph Yamin ex Youth & Sports Minister, hit hard on Ghana Football Association for claiming ownership of the FIFA stimulus package.
In aid of the suspension of football activities in the country over the outbreak of coronavirus,
Clubs have called on the Football Association to come to their aid to help ease their burden.
However, the FA requested for a stimulus package from government which many condemned.
In an interview on a radio station he stated as quote;
“In fact I was surprised when I heard the FA saying the $500,000 from FIFA would be used to pay debts owned by the GFA instead of giving it to the clubs. The truth is that, FIFA’s existence depend on member associations and federations likewise the GFA, because without the Clubs the FA is nothing”
“The stimulus package from FIFA is aimed at saving Ghana football amid coronavirus. So if the FA decides to keep the money themselves rather than looking at the interest of the clubs and how they will survive, then I think it the FA’s decision is difficult to understand”
“Whoever advised the association did not help them. If there is any money coming to the FA, the clubs should first benefit because they are the main architects of the game” he said.
