All domestic flights will resume operations starting today, May 1, 2020, from the Kotoka International Airport to other cities after Zoomlion decontaminated the country’s major airports.
This was announced by the Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda in a press release copied to Ghanaquest.
Aviation Minister, Kofi Adda in the statement stated the contract was reached after the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority, Ghana Airports Company Limited, and the Ghana Health Service instituted steps to guarantee smooth domestic airline company operations.
“The Ministry of Aviation wishes to assure the general public that the country’s Airports are safe as they open up domestic operations and the government remains committed to the safety of passengers and service providers as part of measures aimed at restoring normalcy to the aviation industry.”
“We will review laid down protocols during the domestic operation and when necessary, introduce improved procedures to further enhance the measures to strengthen the fight against coronavirus pandemic as it affects the aviation sector,” part of the statement read.
The Aviation Minister further advised passengers and operators to comply with the directives to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.
