Coronavirus outbreak has made everyone alert to undertake the best of hygienic practices.
Because of how high the demand has become for hand sanitizers, in particular, some dubious people are taking advantage of the situation to manufacture fake products.
A group of those riff-raffs has been arrested.
According to a Joy News report, a young man called Dr. Opoku Ababio also known as Dr. Mina has been arrested for perpetrating such evil crime.
Per the report, this scammer who parades himself as a Herbal Doctor was producing hand sanitizers under conditions not approved by the Food and Drugs Authority.
He was picked up by the Techiman Police Command upon a tip-off.
During his arrest, the Police also discovered other products manufactured by Dr. Mina which are produced under poor hygienic conditions.
Dr. Mina was arrested together with his wife who runs the business with him and some other accomplices.
Chief Supritended Ohene Badu Bossman who’s the Techiman Police Divisional Commander after making sure the arrest was made advised the general public to be cautious of what they buy in the name of hand sanitizers.
He also sent a caution to other people in the business of producing fake sanitizers to desist from that or else they will also be busted soon.
He stressed that Dr. Mina and all his accomplices would be processed to court to face the law.
For now, they’re in police custody.
