NPP party declares one week mourning in memory of the late Chief Executive Officer of
Forestry Commission Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie famously known as ‘Sir John’
Sir John was the also the former NPP General Secretary.
The governing party has also directed its offices and branches across the country to fly the party’s flags
at half-mast in memory of the late Forestry Commission boss.

He died on Wednesday the 1st of July,2020, at at the Intensive Care Unit of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital.
The New Patriotic Party in a statement described Sir John as one who served the party with distinction
in various capacities at all levels culminating in his election as the General Secretary, a position he held
from 2010 to 2014.
