Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) encourages passengers to report drivers who fail to use
approved fare.
Leaders of GPRTU said no driver should take a fare more than the 30% approved by the government.
The chairman of GPRTU Kwame Kuma in an interview said their doors are opened to all who have
challenges particularly the station officers who do not take action against misbehaving drivers.
“At the stations, we have officers there and if they are not taking action, let the region know so that we can work on it and get the local chairman. They need to calculate and make sure that the drivers take the actual fares,” Kwame Kuma said.

The increment of fares approved by the government took effect on Saturday, 11th July 2020.
After a meeting was held with transport operators on Tuesday 7th July 2020, the proposal which was either they take their full seat of passengers or a 30% increment.
A careful deliberation from both the proposal the government approved on an increment of 30% increment.
