Members of Kejetia Traders Association have gone wild on Ashanti regional Minister, Simon Osei Mensah, for directing the KMA to halt distribution of keys to shop owners of the new Kejetia market.
According to chairman of the association, Mr. Kwabena Obeng, they heard from the Regional Minister that they should return all the keys they collected to the KMA for reasons not clear to them.
At a press conference held on Thursday 7th November 2019, Mr. Kwabena Obeng made a passionate appeal to President Akufo-Addo to terminate the appointment of Hon Simon Osei Mensah because of his poor performance in the region.

He wondered why the regional minister is not focusing on his duty to rehabilitate deplorable roads in Kumasi but has spared such time to interfere with their businesses, which is the only source of living for them.
The operation director of the Concerned Central Market Traders Association and the Eleven Member Steering Committee of Kumasi Central Market, Mr. Kwabena Fosu, hinted that the order coming from the Regional Minister will affect traders at the Central Market since the existing market lacks toilet facility and whenever it rains the whole place gets flooded.
Moving the traders to the new Kejetia market, he said, will help them a lot.
