Asante Kotoko Sporting Club have been ordered by the Players and coaches status Committee to pay CK Akonnor for the remainder of his two years contract before his untimely dismissal.
According to the former Hearts of Oak, Ashantigold SC coach, he won in every aspect of the case filed before the status committee against Kotoko and the two times Champions League winners have been ordered to, in accordance with the law and terms of the contract between the parties, pay a compensation to CK to cover the remainder of his two years contract.

“I now have the letter of the ruling in my hands so I can talk about it. Unfortunately it’s not GHC60,000 as is being reported but for the figures I can’t say it, but the ruling is in favour of me. I won in all aspects of the case….it’s unfortunate because for the respect I have for the Asantehene Otumfour I didn’t want it this way,” Akonnor told Kumasi-based Fox FM.
“I had the opportunity to shake hands with Otumfour and it’s a privilege. I wanted it settled out of court but the management did not understand, I asked for only four months salary then I walk away but they didn’t agree, and now they are to pay for two years and there is a huge difference”.
