The Methodist Church, Ghana has rolled out directives to guide church activities following the lifting on ban on public gatherings affecting the churches.
In his address to the nation Sunday, President Akufo-Addo outlined directives that will see to the opening of churches after they had to bee closed for close to three months.
Although the ease takes effect this week, all churches are to resume on the 14th of June 2020 using the first week put in all necessary measures as are needed.
In the church’s directives, all services are to be held in a space of one hour as the president directed but members are supposed to report 30 minutes before the official start time of services to make way for hand washing, registration and other such precautionary measures.
Again, services are going to be held on a first come first serve manner depending on the number of services a church will be working with.
The directives also advises a two hours intervals between service durations starting from 5am. Chorister are not to process or recess nor robe but fill in their lofts.
Churches are also to strictly adhere to the ‘No Mask, No Entry’ protocols as the measures demands that notices are placed on at entrances of the churches. There shall also be no children’s services except in situations where facilities permit for the holding of such classes. The more, churches are advised to make way for Family Services that will allow for children to be catered for whiles sitting with their parents.
Data collection is also a key part of the new protocols as churches are advised to train ushers and such officers as will be involved on compiling names and other important details of attendees whiles making sure to do so in hard copy notebooks that can be made available to authorities where needed.
