The National Democratic Congress (NDC) instead of outlining alternative social interventions to match up with that of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), is busily implementing ‘1 chief 1 insult
A communication team member of the NPP in the Ashanti Region, Mr. Alex Opoku Mensah who made the revelation took on the party over their recent verbal attacks on some traditional rulers in the country.
“The policy of NDC now is one chief one insult”, Mr. Opoku Mensah popularly called OMENS claimed during panel discussion monitored by ghanaquest.com on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM morning show hosted Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin.
According to the Ashanti Regional National Service Scheme (NSS) Director, the modus operandi of the elements in the opposition NDC is to insult and throw mud at traditional rulers whom have seen the good works of President Akufo-Addo.
It comes at the back of a turf war between the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council and the NDC over comments made by the Ashanti Regional Secretary, Mr. Kwame Zu.
Kwame Zu who was a fortnight ago was addressing participants of a demonstration by the Coalition for National Sovereignty bemoaned the increasing hardship and refusal by government to complete projects at various stages and questioned the commitment of the President in that respect when he has also refused to commission the ultra-modern Kejetia market.
“If this Kejetia edifice had been in Kyebi won’t Akufo-Addo open it for his people to use? What development has he brought to Asanteman…even his own hometown his people were competing for drinking water with animals, John Mahama had to provide potable water for his kinsmen. Until John Mahama provided water for him, Okyehene was drinking with animals”
