Reports from tamale indicates that a prison officer in the Central Prison has tested positive for coronavirus.
The was after random testing exercise launched by the northern regional health directorate.

It all started with food vendors and inmates of the Prison.
The directorate said test has given a fair idea of the level of the virus in the region.

Dr. John B. Eleeza, Northern Regional Health Director confirmed the incident adding that the officer traveled to Accra before the result came out.

Ghana Prison Service were informed and the officer is currently under going treatment in Accra.
“They are taking care of the officer at their level in Accra.”
This positive case is part of the 36 cases recorded in the Northern Region with one death.
