Former Health Minister and Ghana’s Ambassador to Cuba, Prof. Kwaku Danso Boafo has been selected by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to lead other members to prepare a new manifesto for the party ahead of the 2020 general election.
The committee’s work, when completed, is expected to be reviewed by veterans of the opposition party to be led by Professor Kwamena Ahwoi.
The committee’s work, after its acceptance, will be communicated to the general public by National Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi and Director of Communications Kakra Essmuah.
Inaugurating the committee at the party’s headquarters on Wednesday, NDC flagbearer for election 2020, John Dramani Mahama advised the committee to consult the policy working groups as the party gears up to save Ghanaians from the party describes as ‘hardships under the Akufo-Addo led administration.’
The inauguration of the manifesto committee wraps up wide stakeholder consultation embarked upon by Mr. Mahama, the former president, and party’s presidential candidate.
The former president has already hinted the manifesto will be a “bottom-up” approach, which is quite different from previous ones.
