Africa’s best young talent will kick off the tournament today, Friday 8 November until the final on the 22nd. We will enjoy two groups of eight teams. So who’s in? Who’s playing who? When? And how to qualify for the Olympics?
How many teams will qualify?
The top three finishing countries will participate in next year’s games in Tokyo. That will be the two finalists as well as the winner in the third/fourth place final.
Who is competing?
Egypt (hosts), Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria (defending champions), South Africa and Zambia.
What’s the structure?
The eight teams are set into group A and B with four teams in each.
Group A: Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana and Mali.
Group B: Nigeria, South Africa, Zambia and Ivory Coast.
