The Environmental Protection Agency now has the mandate and power to prosecute Environmental offenders in the country.
All Individuals, plastic production companies, poultry activities, mining companies, water extractive companies, Oil production firms and Sachet water producers must respect and obey the guidelines of the EPA or else face prosecution.
This was disclosed by the Legal Officer of the EPA, Mrs. Abena Ayensu, when she engaged and schooled the media in a day seminar on the functions of legal frame work of the Agency at Kasoa on Friday.
According to her, there is a national standard of noise that individuals and companies must abide.
She explained that, there is a level of every noise during day and night thus, they are in collaborative effort with District Assemblies to arrest unlawful noise makers.

“Many people have been deployed on groups monitoring and measuring level of noise and EPA is ever ready to prosecute offenders of the environmental laws in the law court.” She said.
Meanwhile, the Kasoa Area Head Office of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Mr. Joseph Atsu Tsagli, also revealed that noise making contribute to deaf, miscarriages, hearing impairment, blood pressure, stroke and other nuisance disease as EPA is persistently making awareness of all these things.
He therefore advised the public to try as much as possible especially churches, information centers to break their level of noise to appreciable manner otherwise, EPA have the mandate to take people to court.
