The government has announced plans to inject US$600 million into the cocoa sector.
The funds will finance various initiatives such as the construction of roads from cocoa-growing communities to towns and centres for easy transportation of the produce, the funding of mass cocoa spraying exercise, agronomic support and input subsidies for farmers.
This is one of the major fallouts from a Cabinet Retreating at Peduase in the Eastern Region since last Thursday.
The Minister of Information, Mr Kojo Oppong Nkrumah made this known at a press briefing Sunday afternoon.
