Ghanaians want an alternative for the NDC and NPP. This is the view of a private legal practitioner and member of the Convention Peoples Party, Mr. Kwame Jantuah. He believes that Ghanaians are looking for a better governance that can only be provided under a CPP government.
According to him the country which has been in recent times under the rule of the NPP and NDC has done nothing to see growth in any way because everything in the country has turned to money and politics.
“And you ask yourself the question, are we in this country for a certain group of people’ comfortability or we are just coming in to build the nation. I want a time where somebody will come to power and say I want to be president of this country and if you vote for me, my main focus is to build this nation and in building this nation, I would bring in opposition, I would bring in my own party people , i will bring in any body who can help build this nation. Francis, we are not building this nation. We are not building the nation psychologically. We are not building the nation socially. We are not building the nation in any way.. because everything has turned to money and politics.” he said
According to him, there are dire consequences if we continue to go this way as a country. He said “we cannot go on this way. It will reach a breaking point. And once it reaches that breaking point, where do we turn to? At the moment, a lot of Ghanaians aren’t happy with the NPP. A lot of Ghanaians aren’t happy with the NDC. A lot of Ghanaians are asking the question “CPP, where are you”? Because we need an alternative. There is no alternative.”
Asked how his party is faring, Mr. Jantuah revealed that the challenges of the CPP and that of other smaller parties are great. He also adds that going into elections, people are only going to vote because, there is the need for someone to rule the country but unfortunately the NPP and NDC haven’t been able to turn the fortunes of Ghanaians around.
“I would love it if Ghanaians come and say okay, we have tasted NPP, we have tasted NDC, we are not satisfied. We are going to do something and that something is we will vote one of these parties into power for the executive and vote another of these parties into power for parliament and let’s see how it works.” he concluded.
