The National Organizer of the NPP, Sammi Awuku, has questioned the motive behind the setting up of a parallel COVID-19 response team by the flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress, John Mahama.
In a panel discussion on Accra based radio station, Peace FM’s Kokrokoo morning show, Sammi Awuku of the ruling party could not understand the thinking behind such a move by the John Mahama.
”I am struggling to understand former President John Mahama and the NDC. Do we establish opposition NADMO in times of floods?” he quizzed.
Sammi Awuku observed that the phenomenon is strange in the country since no opposition party in the country’s political history has arrogated such powers to itself to set up parallel structures to counter that of the state.
Describing the move as reckless and an act of lawlessness, Sammi Awuku described the opposition party as insensitive to the plight of the citizenry. He wondered why anybody would seek to make political capital in times of crisis.
