After being in the industry for a decade, TIME EP adds to Junior’s memoir as a DJ. Listen here. Junior Taurus takes a sultry and soulful tone with this EP. The journey to TIME, began before September with the release of ikhaya followed by Unoqatiko, which launched the release of Until September EP. Closing off September, Junior returns with his latest interpretation of music in the form of a six track EP tilted TIME.
When talking about the process of creation, Junior said, “I found myself by luck surrounded by musicians, my neighbours are all musicians and I took it as a sign to finally work on songs that I’ve kept in my heart for all these years, musical works that I couldn’t finish on my own” Junior gives a breakdown of each song below,
Breaking down the EP opener Hamba Bekile, Junior Taurus said: “South African Xhosa folk song about men sitting in a circle and drinking traditional African brewed beer, poured inside a traditional clay pot, these men take a sip and pass it on to the next, as some men take normal sips others take huge gulps in fear that the brew might not make it back to me after completing a full circle…they sit and urge the clay pot to keep moving so it can return to them. Hamba Bekile.”
Ndzakulibala is the second track where Junior teams up with talented songstress Cnethemba Gonelo and says; “the idea was to create a song that best describes that moment in a relationship when you finally wake up and realize just how much you’ve been taken for granted.”
Thethelela Mdlali “is a story of many” he says and continues to say “waking up early in the morning, with nothing to eat and having to go hustle and make a plan for our families against all odds, we still pray for God’s mercy and kindness.”
Talking about his current single Umfazi, junior said, “Women die knowing. With the red flags in the world women will still get into a troublesome situation and not be able to leave because of their nurturing nature, women have learned to hold the sharp end of a knife…this is a story of a woman accused and crucified for things she knows nothing off”
When talking about Zaka Zaka, Junior Taurus shared “This is an old South African story based in an era were men and young boys were forced to get on a train and go look for work in the mines of South Africa and in a pursuit for financial stability they meet hurdles and barriers but through sheer determination for Zaka they do whatever it takes.”

Remember Us closes off the EP, speaking about the track Junior Said; “the true meaning and idea behind this song lies in a song released on Until September titled “Till The End Of Time” these songs are one in the same and the message behind them is for our fans as musicians to; ‘Remember us, until the end of time’.”
The title of the EP comes as a result of ‘time’ having its own plans, Junior Taurus had planned to release a full body of work in September when talking about the title, this is what he had to say “I was scheduled to release my life-long work in September but time had other plans, I guess it was not the right time.” Trust the timing of your life, a saying that is often used to encourage one while navigating through life. He continued to share; “Create your own lane, play your own songs, build your own fan base, more importantly create the space you want to live in, for time is not guaranteed”
