Former Ghana international Mohammed Polo says he will be the best man to be appointed the next coach of the Black Stars.
The Ghana Football Association is looking to name a new coach following the departure of Avram Grant, upon expiration of his contract at the end of February.
“I have applied for this job for a very long time but anytime I apply for the job, I don’t get it,” Polo was quoted as saying by Ghana Soccer Net.
“People know what I can do when it comes to the national team.
“We have the various national teams but they keep struggling.
“If I don’t get this job, I will feel very bad because I have what it takes to be the Black Stars coach.
“If the team is given to a Ghanaian, I will give him my full support but personally I need that job.”
Applications have been opened for the vacant post, but it is unclear if Polo has officially applied.
Polo’s last coaching job at top level was with Hearts of Oak between 2013 and 2014, where he was sacked after a run of poor results.
