Kwame Agyeman-Budu
THE NEW Managing Director of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), Kwame Agyeman-Budu, has engaged staff of the company at separate fora across the country where he spelt out his vision for the power distribution company.
Mr Agyeman-Budu emphasized the need for the staff to maintain the private sector ethics which they exhibited during the period when the Power Distribution Services (PDS) took over to help transform the company for the greater good.

According to him, his tenure will witness the mirroring of the private sector delivery mechanisms of cost and profit considerations where performance indicators formed the basis of enforcement.
He said his administration would work on expenditure reduction, reliability of power supply, improved revenue collection and customer service delivery as key thematic strategies.
He also highlighted the need to enhance project assessment, adding that projects must bring value for money. In achieving this, he said due diligence and the pursuance of standard procurement practices must be adhered to.
The new MD further assured the staff he would institute awards and incentives for staff who worked to improve the company’s situation adding that he would show greater commitment to making available all logistics needed to achieve the company’s revenue targets.
Agyeman-Budu additionally stated adequate measures had been put in place to ensure reliable and stable power supply during the festive season. He said currently, all maintenance works were on halt except in critical cases. This is aimed at giving customers uninterrupted power supply.
He said fault intervention teams would however be on standby to intervene when the need arose.
He added that the loss control unit or revenue protection unit would work during the holidays to monitor and minimize power theft in high consuming entertainment centers.
