Prof. William Ampofo, Head of the Virology Department of Noguchi for Medical Research has explained that retesting of samples collected for coronavirus does not affect the data being reported by the Ghana Health Service(GHS).
In response to controversies on sample collection,
He said;
“So what you get from the GHS is the individual; that particular person’s results, but for medical science we don’t put a name to a result…But these are test results of individuals and not just samples” – Prof. William Ampofo
Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research has processed 76,921 samples, with 70,921 tests done and a backlog of about 6000, likely to be cleared by the end of the week.
