Chief Executive Officer for the Ghana Publishing Company Limited, Mr. David Asante has ahead of the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries picked up his forms to contest for the Nkawkaw seat.
According to reports from Peace Fm, he picked his form up yesterday at the party’s constituency office.
Mr. Asante who is also one of the leaders for the ‘Let My Vote Count Alliance’ speaking to the media said this move became necessary after responses from the party’s grass-roots showed that there was the need for a change in leadership at the parliamentary level for the Nkawkaw Constituency.
“An interesting part of this is that, from the year 1996 to 2020, the Nkawkaw constituency gives the NPP over 50,000 votes. We have contributed to the success of the NPP over the past few years politically. So we are looking forward to see our MP’s to be able to work and bring a lot of development. The feedback we get from the grass-roots is that there is the need for a change in leadership as far as the parliamentary leadership of Nkawkaw is concerned. That is the call i had no choice but to respond to.” he said
He also added that his contesting comes as a result of the need for a paradigm shift in leadership as far as parliamentary leadership of the NPP in Nkawkaw is concerned.
Mr. David Asante will thus be contesting against the incumbent member of parliament for the Nkawkaw constituency, Hon. Eric Kwakye Darfour.
