However, in an interview with the media, Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP, Francis Adomako, disclosed that only one incumbent female MP is contesting unopposed among all the incumbent MP’s in the region.
“The decision for the Female MPs to contest unopposed didn’t hold as at now all the female incumbent MPs are being contested except Mavis Nkasah Boadu[Afigya Sekyere] that I know is contesting unopposed’’ he said.
He added, the party’s vetting exercise is likely to delay because of the independence day celebration and other party activities.

Therefore, it will be very difficult for us to follow the national calendar for the vetting but we will do our best to organize the vetting without any trouble’’ he assured.
Nonetheless, Mr Adomako added’ the party has formed a three-member committee to be chaired by board chairman of SSNIT, Dr. Kwame Addo Kuffour, Peter Mac Manu and Cecilia Abena Dapaah to address concerns of any aspirant who may have aggrievances when disqualified by the vetting committee.
“Know people will feel aggrieved when disqualified unfairly by the committee for unjustified reason so the party has formed a committee to receive all form of petitions to be sent to them for redress to avoid troubles in the party for a particular period be for the final official list of qualified aspirants will be made known to the public,’’ the Ashanti Regional Organizer of the NPP hinted.
