The Chiefs and people of Prampram Traditional Area have marked this year’s Homowo festival with the usual sprinkling of their traditional food Kpokoi within the principal clan houses at Prampram.
This year’s celebration was without the usual funfair associated with it.
The ritualistic performance was led by the Manklalo and the Acting President of Prampram Traditional area Nene Atsure Benta III
He said this festival was celebrated without the usual fun fair and merry making because they were mourning the late Paramount Chief of the area, Nene Tetteh Djan III who ruled his people for the past 20 years.
He said burial and funeral rites would be held for the late chief by October ending 2017 and urged all the principal clans to contribute and collaborate with the Funeral Planning Committee to give the late Paramount Chief a befitting burial as tradition requires.
Nene Benta appealed to the people to tolerate and respect each other’s views on issues related to the development of the area.
Nene Atsure Benta III later asked God’s blessings for his subjects.
