Vice President, Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia was at the Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday to welcomed President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo back home from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia after his participation in the 28th session of the African Union Summit.
The three-day summit which started with an executive council meeting on Friday the 27th of January and ended on Tuesday the 31st had the theme “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in the Youth.”
In his address to the other African leaders present the Ghanaian president called the summit a landmark one for what he describes as the far reaching decisions that were taken: including the acceptance of the Kingdom of Morocco into the organization and efforts to extend its reach throughout the continent.

This year’s summit elected the Chadian Foreign Minister Moussa Faki Mahamatas as the chairman of the organization. The outgoing Chairperson of the Commission Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma encouraged the the new leadership to capitalize on her accomplishments and work to realize the hope and aspiration of all of African.
