A quick-thinking on the part of a bus motorist in Kumasi on Thursday early morning prevented what might have been a fatal accident.
The driver of the minibus [trotro] was coming down a hillside when the brakes reportedly failed.
He got on the Technology highway in Kumasi, moving from the Top High location towards the KNUST Junction (Tech junction).
A couple of metres he went under the pedestrian overhead bridge at the KNUST junction, the brakes of the vehicle reportedly failed.

In his attempt to stay clear of encountering the traders and also food vendors who layer their trade below the bridge, and pedestrians on the side of the road, the vehicle driver chose to get in pedestrian walkway meant for Persons With Disability (PWDs) to access the overhead bridge.
Fortunately, the pathway was vacant at the time except for a roadside preacher who had mounted his audio speakers as well as was sharing words of God.
After climbing the walkway, the bus unexpectedly came to a stop and various other motorists around the scene hurriedly rushed with concrete obstructs to restrain [chock] the car from turning around.
