Six Nigerians who were arrested at a birthday party during the restriction on movement
Have been a fined for GHc86, 400 by an Accra Circuit Court.
The six persons pleaded guilty to the offence and were convicted on their own plea to a fine of GHc14, 400 each or face five years in jail in default.
After the fined persons asked the court to temper justice with mercy.
But the prosecution led by Chief Inspector Guiliver Tenkorang said the accused persons deserve hefty punishment to serve as a deterrent to others.
He said the accused persons knew the consequences of what they did and also knew what was happening in the country when the restriction was imposed by the President to curb the spread of COVID-19.
