Four committees made up of Youth, Zongo Caucus, Women and Communications committees have been inaugurated by the Ablekuma North Conctituency branch by the National Democratic Congress(NDC) last Sunday to work towards making the party win the upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in December, 2020.
As part of their work, the committees inaugurated a ceremony in Darkuman, Officia Town are to among other things embark on house to house campaigns to preach messages of the NDC, maintaining a strong presence in the Zongos as well as devise strategies that will help them win the 2020 elections in the constituency.

According to a report by graphic.com.gh, vice-chairman for the party, Alhaji Said Sinare, speaking at the inauguration charged the various committes set-up in the constituency to work hard in ensuring that the party won both parliamentary and presidential elections come December 7th.
He said “We cannot afford to be lazy. You have to go out there and convince the people with the message that the NDC has. If we are not able to work hard, we will not win the 2020 elections,”
Also speakiing at the ceremony, Constituency Zongo Caucus Coordinator, Abdul-Wahab Jawondo also said “The unity of the party is very paramount in delivering all the zongos within the Constituency for the party…The three major zongos namely Darkuman Zongo,Kwashieman Zongo and Awoshie Zongo will surely be delivered with the current competent and action oriented selected working committee members… I urge you all to contribute your quota by coming on board for the party’s victory come December 7”, a report by ghanaquardian.com said.

Some other notable members of the NDC who were present include the MP for Ablekuma South and former mayor of Accra, Dr Alfred Oko Vanderpuije; former National Communications Officer, Mr Solomon Nkansah and the National Youth Organiser, Mr George Opare Addo.
Dynamics
NDC has won the seat only once in 1992. NPP has held on from then. It is currently held by the NPP’s Nana Akua Owusu Afriyieh who might e contesting in the December 2020 polls should she be elected as candidate in the NPP’s extr-ordinary delegates conference in April this year.
